Troy McWhinney, the Loveland developer who with his brother and father changed the head of east Loveland, has been named Real Estate Entrepreneur of the Year by Colorado State University's Everitt Property Center. He will be presented with the award Wednesday at CSU's 18th annual Northern Colorado Property Conference in Loveland's Embassy Suites convention center. Troy and brother Chad McWhinney along with their daddy, Derek, made the McWhinney development provider in 1991. Their key influence on Loveland has become the 3,000-acre Centerra master-planned residential and commercial development on both sides of Interstate 25 on the eastern border of Loveland. Acknowledging that the McWhinney company has "done no less than transform the landscape of our region, both physically and economically," Everitt Real Estate Center executive manager Eric Holsapple said in a media release that "we are proud to honor Troy with this award in recognition of his continued commitment to our region and our state."
Troy's leadership skills and attention to detail has helped direct the company he helped found toward its purpose of creating unique places. Troy McWhinney, chief investment officer and also Cofounder of the Loveland-based real estate development company that bears his name, was named Property Entrepreneur of the Year by the Everitt Real Estate Center at the College of Business at Colorado State University on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The award has been presented at the 18th Yearly Northern Colorado Realestate Conference held at the Embassy Suites Hotel at Loveland. It admits McWhinney's impact in the Northern Colorado region on the previous two decades.
